Kindness

There was one morning when I was taking a walk around our neighborhood, and as I was walking past each house I wondered how the people inside were starting their day off. As I thought of this, I looked at the houses and knew I could never really know, I can’t see through the walls. They could be inside sharing exciting news with loved ones, they could have just suffered a loss, having an argument, no one could be speaking at all to each other. So many things could be happening behind the walls, closed doors and shut windows.

We never really know what someone else is going through. When they walk out of their house and into the world, each interaction they could profoundly change them, good or bad. We should treat others with kindness regardless how they’re treating us or acting towards us or others. You never know that simple act of kindness you give them could greatly change them and then slowly make an impact on many others.

Houses are like people. The windows can give you a small look into who they are, the walls protect the inside from harm. Doors can be opened or closed and even sometimes others are fully let inside and get that chance to see everything that others can’t. Some houses are completely closed up and no one gets the chance to really see the inside, but in those times we know one person who can always see inside – God! No matter how many walls you put up, windows or doors you close, He always gets in and is there for protection.

You’re next interaction keep kindness in mind, you never know what that person is going through. Also you never know how much of an impact your interaction will have on them. We don’t realize how much power each word or action we do has on someone else!
